Innovation is in our blood

BCUHB is home to some of the most advanced healthcare research and innovative practice in the UK. As an already research active Health Board, our drive and desire to improve and innovate means that we work collaboratively with partner organisations, patients and businesses to push the boundaries of healthcare, industry, technology and education.

Our strong links with Bangor and Glyndwr Universities means we can continually capitalise on academic strengths and expertise. Alongside the North Wales Clinical School and our dynamic education programmes which attract high calibre staff and students, BCUHB is playing a major role in helping us create the health care of the future. Living, training or working in North Wales over the next 10 years will mean being part of tomorrow’s world.

Research forms an important part of the Health Board’s strategy and is promoted to all of our staff via monthly newsletter. The Research & Development Department mascot CERI (Create, Explore, Research, Innovate) often makes an appearance in our newsletters, and comes along with us to awareness raising days at various hospitals across the Health Board.
